Hi, Everyone~This is Lydia.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend~ It's spring in my city now,and the flowers are blooming,I am very happy with it~

The article started with <Review> will be my twttier Space‘s online meetup reviews, for the ppl who want to know more about the project informations but couldn’t make it to attend my twitter space~Hope you like it, and hope the informations can helps you.

Also at the beginning, I want to make a announcement:

All the twttier space online meetup or the content I tweeted is not an finacial advises. The reason I do this is just want to grab more informations about the projects. All the investment and judgment is yours. Please be rational when you are invest any project.

The contents of this one is about the meetup we had 3/9 with Nuance / Usergeek/ Modclub.

The following 3 dapps on Internet Computer are the first to receive grants from ICP and today we will learn how they all work together. The text below were notes taken from an attendee. It is paraphrased at some points which means full sentences were not fully transcribed.

Nuance: “We are building Nuance which is a blogging platform build entirely on the IC. We were in the first batch of grant recipients and one of the first products to launch on the IC. We are here today with Modclub and Usergeek who are two of our partners. For Nuance we need to build trust with our readers and having moderated content is one of the ways we aim to build that trust — thats where Modclub comes in. As Nuance will be a platform for publishers and professional authors to generate income we need to provide our content creators with some level of insight so they can steer their business — thats where usergeek comes in. “

We launched our alpha in August last year and started learning from our users. Since then we have grown our team and completely rebuilt Nuance for our beta release. The beta is faster, more secure, more scalable, easier to use and much more beautiful. Beta is coming out soon which is why we are, this week actually, starting our seed round.

Lydia: “I used it for my blog. I think it needs smoother interface. What’s the difference between nuance and mirror?”

Nuance: “The alpha was to prove it was possible to build a blogging platform on the IC. The beta release is much better. The user experience is much better, not just the user interface but the entire experience. Mirror I believe is not entirely on chain, with the front-end on AWS. From what I understand the governance part is on ethereum with data storage on ARWeave. Besides that, I think that Mirror is not an excellent UX, which is why we invest so heavily in design. Very solid team behind Mirror though.

Lydia: “Why did you choose IC?”

Nuance: “I am not an expert in other blockchains but I have done some research and I think that the IC is probably the only chain that can host social apps with lots of data on chain serving through the browser at Web2 speed”

Lydia introduces Usergeek.

Usergeek: My name is Dmitry. I’m a product person at Usergeek. We are a team of 6 people, working together for the last ±15 years, building different b2c projects and product development tools. Products we’ve built were used by millions of users, so we got a lot of experience on scaling approaches, on product analytics and on how to create the environment where you can easily test any product hypotheses.

We’ve released our first product on Internet Computer in December — it is a product analytics called Usergeek. It is 100% running on the IC. It allows you to easily check your product daily, weekly and monthly users, new users, new user retention and usage frequency. The most basic metrics, but also the most important to start with.

While Usergeek is oriented more on product people — Canistergeek is probably a bit more developer oriented. It allows you to monitor your canisters cycles/memory realtime status, trends and prediction. It is 100% open source. Motoko library needs to be integrated into a canister. It then collects the info and stores it. And you can launch an open source demo-ui app anywhere, and demo-ui is basically an interface to the data stored in the canister. Canistergeek doesn’t have any backend, so no data leave your canister(s).

We’ve also just released an NFT analytics tool called NFTgeek, where we are trying to add some transparency to the NFT minting and market data. There’s a lot of data available out there, but sometimes it’s really hard to find it, especially if you’re not a technical person. So we decided to fill this gap.

Lydia: “How does usergeek track data? There are canisters that can create canisters. Works just like all other analytics, sdk, collected data, runs the math and presents to you.”

Usergeek: For Usergeek it doesn’t matter how many canisters you have, since SDK is integrated into web-page. And we are not actually “tracking” users. We are collecting information needed to run a product analysis. We consider ourselves as a “Product” analytics and not “User” analytics.

For Canistergeek, if your project has a lot of canisters — it might not work well at the moment, but we are looking for some options to cover this use-case as well.

Lydia: “Is there a project you’d like you partner with?”

Usergeek: We are already working with ~10 projects, like DSCVR, DSocial, OpenChat, ICP Squad… It would be great to have more projects onboard as right now we are in the very beginning and it’s very important for us to have as much feedback as possible.

Lyidia: “How is your roadmap going?”

Usergeek: We are developing new feature for Usergeek, which is Custom Events, it will open doors to such features as conversions funnels and more complex retention charts.

We’ve already added logging system to Canistergeek and have some more feedback about the next features, which can be added.

For the Q2 we also have plans on the Remote configuration system. It is needed to change the product appearance or behaviour in realtime without the need to make a new release. When combined with product analytics it can allow you to do things like A/B testing, which is also super useful for product development.

Lydia: “That’s amazing. Let move onto Modclub.”

ModClub: Hi I am the founder of MODCLUB, modclub.app, MODCLUB provides a Moderation-as-a-Service (MaaS) and Proof of Humanity (POH) solution to applications on the Internet Computer. Moderators can earn rewards, and Developers can control and review how their content is vetted, at a cost far lower than doing it themselves.

Just as a company might use an API to handle or execute a task or deliver a service they don’t want to build out themselves, apps deployed on the IC can integrate with MODCLUB to comprehensively handle their content moderation activities. MaaS allows an application team to protect users and maintain trust within their community, while “outsourcing” the responsibility and labor involved in the daily business of moderation.

MODCLUB’s content approval process is decentralized, meaning that it is handled end-to-end by the community of users, who elect to participate based on a combination of their desire to support the community and the prospect of token rewards. MODCLUB moderators are rewarded for their efforts with platform tokens (MOD). In order to avoid moderators colluding with each other, tasks are randomly distributed to moderators who have staked enough tokens for the task in hand.

Over time, we aim to build a deep pool of trusted moderators and client apps, so the former can be well rewarded and latter well served.

Lydia: “That’s perfect, love it. How many users?”

ModClub: “Over 600 people are using our Test Net and counting! Our community has been testing out our moderation platform and signing up for Proof of Humanity. Anyone can join once we launch Main Net. To become a moderator users will have to go through our Proof of Humanity verification process. Once they have been approved, they can begin to moderate content and receive rewards.

The moderation process works as follows, moderators review content and either approve or reject it. Once enough votes have been cast by moderators it is marked as finalized and the vote result is sent back to the application. If the moderator votes correctly (meaning with the majority) they will receive a reward and if they vote incorrectly, they will lose tokens. There is also a grace period before rewards are distributed so that peer review process can occur where your voting behavior is reviewed by other moderators to check for malicious activity. After this grace period the moderator receives their reward and the content is removed from our system for security and storage reasons”

Lydia: “Okay perfect. How long does it take to verify content?”

Modclub: “It is pretty fast! It can take a few seconds usually to verify / finalize a vote but it can also take longer depending on the configuration that app developers set. When an app developer integrates with us, they can configure two settings: The number of votes required per content and the number of tokens staked that a moderator needs to have in order to vote on your content. By increasing the number of votes required per content and the number of tokens staked, it can take longer for the voting process to complete. We experimented with this in our TestNet for different vote amounts such 3, 5 and all the way up to 100 votes required for a single piece of content. We noticed that voting time took a few seconds when the required vote count was low, so much so that there wasn’t any remaining test content for new users to see. We had to increase the limit to 100 votes per content so that new moderators would have something to see when they joined the platform. “

Lydia: “How can Modclub pinpoint high quality content and support all languages?”

Modclub: “Yes that is an issue we are trying to solve. And the key is to be as global as possible. Moderators will be able to pick their language preference and shown content only in their language. This will be a future feature that is part of our roadmap. “

Lydia: “How is your team growing and how’s your roadmap looking?

Modclub: “We’ve been growing since we last spoke; we’ve hired 4 developers, a social media manager and many more. In terms of the roadmap we have a lot of things planned such as: Integrating with Plug and Stoic Wallet, international language support, educational content for moderators and we are ramping up for our private investment round.”

Lydia: “The voting system sounds like a dao to me, will you create a dao?”

Modclub: “Essentially MODCLUB will be a DAO. We are expecting to accomplish this by integrating with the SNS and once complete the community will be able to vote and shape the future of the platform such as reward mechanisms, tokenomics, and more.

Lydia: “That’s great, I’m happy to see you team is growing fast and big. Congratulations. Now we can just do some freestyle chatting and and collaboration. “

Nuance: “The three products are a great example of the service composability of the IC — one of the things that I always I liked most about the IC. We need content moderation. Modclub can do that. We need product analytics. Usergeek can do that. In fact we were literally about to start building something to track cycles when I saw the tweet about canistergeek.

Saved us a tonne of work.

Lydia: “There are over 100 dapps on ic, so what other projects do you want to collab with?”

Nuance: “We are collaborating with Psychedelic for both Plug wallet and CAP. Also collaborating with Toniq for Stoic wallet and our NFT minting. We are collaborating with IASC, Internet Astronauts, for an airdrop. So Nuance users are actually using five, maybe six, different IC dapps. Everything on the IC.

Usergeek : It’s great to see IC projects collaborating. If there are tools available, why not to use them. And that’s what we want to do — save time for others by providing them with different tools.

Modclub: “We want everyone to use us. If you have any content to be moderated or if you need proof of humanity then we are a good solution for you. Any app developer that sees value in our platform, we would love to collaborate with you and you can reach us at team@modclub.app “

Lydia: “Even though we are an early ecosystem. It’s great to see all the dapps collaborating. It’s great to also see all the user base applications work together and allow users to give feedback and interact with you. Thank you for providing so much informations.”

Community question; “How will users find new content being published on Nuance?”

Nuance; “That’s a great question because it’s an issue we are having issues now. Problems with SEO and having content appear on google. Polarization is something web2 companies like us are facing. So for now we don’t have an answer to that but we are working on it. We are trying to solve that problem. “ “Thats a great question because I don’t have a good answer. But we are aware that search will be one of our biggest challenges. Both from the point of view of SEO as well as surfacing relevant and quality content to readers on Nuance. We need to be doing this with more than just engagement, because this can lead to polarisation, which many of the Web2 platforms are currently scrambling to correct.

Community question:: “How did you know your service was needed on IC.”

Nuance: “I come from a Web2 publishing space and when I learned it was might be possible to publish long-term content entirely on blockchain, and the tokenomics of Web3, I knew publishing could be transformed.”

Usergeek: We see a lot of young projects launching on the Internet Computer. It often means they don’t have time or resources to build everything. That’s where we can help, so projects could focus on their product and not on the tools around it.

Modclub: “We believe decentralized social media applications will be the future of Web 3 and we wanted to help enable that future. All social media apps will need some form of moderation and we believed that we could help them by building our platform so they don’t have to build it themselves.”

Lydia: “Well this was a great twitter space. Thank you for all your speeches. We are giving away 5 whitelist spots for ModClub so pay attention to your DMs. Thank you for being here”
