Decentralized “WhatsApp” build on Dfinity — — Openchat

So what is OpenChat ?
OpenChat is a in real time chat app build on Internet computer blockchain. it means that all the data is on blockchain, and also the chat massage is in real time， and more the user themselves owns their own chat history datas, including pictures, massages, transaction history.
The user experiences just like you send massages using WhatsApp or WeChat.

- You can join openchat here oc.app using your Phone number or Internet Identity.
2. After you finished the sign-in step，you will got your own page. you can created your own profile picture and user name, and bio…just like the other Web2 Apps， no much difference.
3. you can create your own Chat Group.

What you can do In a Chat group ?
- You can setup Group details, add or remove group members, send invite url , search massage histories, and creat a voting poll, also you can delete the group.
2. You can send massages, voice massages ,emojis and GIFs to the group.
you might think this is nothing important. but if you thinking of that all the datas are your owns and all datas are on blockchain, this is something amazing.
Because you own your own data, all the data is storaged on blockchain. no one can changes it. no one can takes it from you. Therefor you need to pay ICP for running your own canister（ canister is ICP-native smart contract) to storage those datas. one user one canister.
Now the words massages ,emoji, GIF is free ( it wont cost much storages) But voice massages and image massages are need to pay in ICP.
3. You can transfer ICP to another user directly in-dapps！
you just need to know the users name！
Because one use own one canister，so its canister to canister transaction. Openchat has its wallet address in-apps.
You can also deposit ICP to Openchat or withdraw from Openchat.
All the group functions are same as personal to personal chatroom.
About the storage
Because of you own your own data，so you need to pay ICP for running your
own canister（ canister is ICP native smart contract) to storage those datas.
I paid 0.1 ICP for the storage, so I can send voice massages and pictures.
This the storage after I sent one voice massages and one picture.
you can check your storage state on the top right Conner
there is an “ Account” button.
And also you can check your user stats on the top right Conner.
User stats It shows all the activities that you had.
That is your web3.0 DATA.
